Octagon Cycling Club is a friendly local cycling club formed in 2009 in & around the Ely area.
We are a mixed ability social group of riders......our group boasts a couple of ex-pro racers, complete novices, newbies, charity cyclists, mechanics, mountain bikers, and just about anybody who enjoys getting on a road bike.
We meet Wednesday & Thursday evenings for training rides, and Saturday and Sunday mornings for long rides 30 to 80miles at varying speeds between 15 & 24+ mph. We always aim to stay together & no one is left behind.....
New members are always welcome...there is no joining fee, no commitment just turn up in Market square & enjoy the pleasure of riding a road bike with like-minded souls.....& quite a bit of light banter.
We also do our bit for charity. In the past we have raised thousands of pounds for local good causes such as East Anglian Air Ambulance and Ely Foodbank. In 2016 we are planning a Charity ride of 300 miles in 2 days for ACT (Addenbrooke’s Hospital) and You Can Bike Too based in Milton Cambridgeshire (Add web site links here)
So, if you are getting caught up in the tide of new found cycling in the Cambridgeshire area contact us.......
Oh and by the way most of our rides include coffee, cake and a bacon roll or two.
